Peach & Pistachio Summer Wedding

I met Daniel & Sarah when I was photographing Adam & Jenn’s wedding last summer and I am so grateful to have gotten to know this lovely couple.  I shot their engagement session in December of last year and anyone who is that much fun in the snow is just incredible!  They both have such a genuine, easy-going way about them that makes them so easy to love and get to know.

We captured some of the most gorgeous details on their day starting with the girls getting ready at the Kenosee Inn cabins.  Sarah wore a gorgeous necklace her gentleman Daniel had gifted her.  She also had a heart shaped piece of fabric from her Father’s shirt sewn into her dress to remember him & keep his memory close all day.  We spent time with the guys getting ready as well and there were so many special moments spent at Daniel’s parent’s cabin. I especially enjoyed capturing Daniel reading a note from his Bride which accompanied a Groom’s survival kit for the day.  After Daniel’s Mom pinned on his boutinnere, they embraced and tears of joy flowed. It’s such an honor to capture wedding days like this!!

At the ceremony, we witnessed THE best Groom’s reaction when Daniel first saw Sarah, you could tell he had been looking forward to this moment and all ‘the feels’ that came with it.  The beautiful ceremony over looking the water at the Chalet was breathtaking.  Their smiles after they were announced husband & wife, made the whole crowd cheer with joy!

The whole day was just dreamy!  The peach and pistachio colors throughout the event added to the timeless and elegant day.  And can we talk about the most gorgeous fresh wedding florals! When it came time to celebrate at the reception, the couple hosted a tasteful event under a large tent for all their guests.  Sarah & Daniel treated guests to an authentic fried chicken picinic dinner followed by delicious desserts including mini lemon meringue pies.  After the speeches, the Bride & Groom confessed during their thank-you speech what an inspiration each of their parents were and that learning to love one another definitely stemmed from growing up in such loving households.

They both thanked Landon & I for being a part of their day.  Daniel & Sarah, you both have a special place in my heart. I take away so many great memories of your wedding day.

The story of this tiger lily flower gave me (good) chills when Daniel’s Mom told it to me.  Her Mother used to spend alot of time at the cabin at the lake.  She would pick wild flowers on her walks and then toss them on the ground behind the cabin.   She sadly passed a few years ago but when the family spotted this bright orange provincial flower blooming during the wedding week, they knew Daniel’s Grandmother was near and sending a message to the Bride & Groom!  We were all in tears over this story, thank you for sharing such a wonderful memory of a missed loved one, whom I know was there with us that day.
