Kenosee Lake Engagement Session

This happy couple was down from Calgary for the Canada day long weekend and booked engagement shoot with me at Kenosee lake. The couple first met in Kenosee when they both had jobs working for the park, Aaron as a conservation officer and Alysa worked in the park. They dated for a while and then both went their separate ways as their lives and adventures took a different path. Alyssa went off travelling to Europe, Australia and Korea for several years and Aaron studied studied law. Fast forward a few years later in Calgary when they both attended a stampede event at Wild Bills. The two didn’t end up together at that moment but a little while later on they began to date again. They have an awesome life living downtown Calgary enjoying the city while working and having adventures living close to the Rocky Mountains.

They thought an engagement shoot at Kenosee Lake would be the perfect spot to capture this time in their lives because it was ultimately where their story began. We began photos at the Chalet,  for that’s where the couple had their first jobs and can remember chatting out in the parking lot and reminiscing about working together.

From there we headed to lookout-point, just up the hill from the chalet. This is where Aaron brought Alysa back to propose. She admits when Aaron got down on one knee she could not believe it was happening but she eventually came out of shock and said YES.  These two are scheduled to get married January 27, 2017 in Jamaica.

We then headed out for a few canoe shots. But after finding out there was no plug in the boat we quickly decided that was a bad idea and got them to shore and took the remaining photos on dry land. We joked about how this little adventure would be something they would talk about for years to come from their engagement session.
