I'm here to tell your story...the joy, the laughs, the tears, and the memories along the way.
You all know I love Kenosee Lake. Over the past several years it has been the setting for some of the most beautiful weddings I have photographed. I feel so at home there and hope one day our family can acquire a cabin amongst the beautiful birch trees by the lake and make some amazing memories! This session was full of wonderful memories of the first time I met Tyson & Lisa. They travelled from Weyburn to Kenosee for their wintry engagement shoot. I couldn’t get over how gorgeous of a couple they were not to mention photogenic…can I just mention Lisa’s eyes and you all know how much of a beard fan I am. When they pulled a set of heart shaped balloons out of their car to use, I gasped with excitement…I knew this session was going to be fabulous!
We ended up having amazing light and weather that day…a few weeks prior we had to re-schedule since it was -40 degrees with the windchill. Am I ever glad we were blessed with a great day, because these two rocked beautifully coordinated outfits for the session (instead of having to bundle up in winter coats). We began at the well-known Chalet in the park. This couple who met at O’Hanlons in Regina took no time to warm up to me and my camera. This delightful shoot continued in a treed area the couple handpicked for their session near the recreation hall their wedding reception is being held at this September.
The couple did a quick wardrobe change and we headed to our final location. There, Tyson played guitar while looking loving at Lisa. I couldn’t help but recollect at this moment back to their engagement story… the couple went on their 5 year anniversary to a city park after a date night dinner and a movie. Tyson told Lisa to go pick out a spot on the grass with a blanket. He followed her shortly after with champagne. Tyson got down on one knee and read parts of a memoir of their relationship…it recalled their first date, first meal they cooked together, etc. and ended the memoir with how he envisioned his future with Lisa. Tyson asked Lisa to marry him and she said YES…how romantic!
It was wonderful to get to know you both at your engagement session! The fall will be here before we know it and I’ll be capturing a new chapter of your memoir…titled ‘Husband & Wife’!
