I'm here to tell your story...the joy, the laughs, the tears, and the memories along the way.
Dustin & Raelene grew up neighbourhoods apart in Saskatoon and went to high school together but it wasn’t until Dustin made the first move years later that the two hit it off and have been together ever since.
On their free weekends, these two spend their time building a cabin up at Wakaw Lake. On one regular Saturday afternoon, they drove up to the lake alone and Dustin had been talking it up all week what work his brother-in-law and him had done on the deck. When they pulled up into their lakefront lot, he was so excited for Raelene to see the deck and progress on the cabin. She walked out and couldn’t see any progress from the last time she had visited but then finally realizes there’s something written on the house wrap of the cabin in huge block letters. It says “RAE, WILL YOU MARRY ME? LOVE DUST”. As she turned around, Dustin was on one knee asking if she would marry him. It was the perfect moment!
During their engagement session, we chatted about Dustin’s Dad being from Oxbow and figured out Dustin attended his cousin Jenn’s wedding which happened to be the very first wedding I ever photographed…it’s always amazing how my little camera can reconnect me with such special people. I loved spending some time with these two who brought me all the way to Saskatoon for a weekend in the city. I captured them as they cuddled and we visited the location we’re going back to for wedding photos. Raelene even sent me on my way with homemade cupcakes for the kids, how sweet. All I can say is I’m looking forward to your wedding, next year can’t come soon enough!
