Rustic Summer Wedding in Estevan Saskatchewan

Katie and Colten’s wedding day began at the Western Star Hotel in Estevan. The guys tied their ties and donned their funky socks in one room while the girls got ready in another, and laughter rang out from both rooms all morning. There were a few tears too…the Bride + Groom decided to do a ’First Touch’ and read each other private vows before walking down the aisle.

Colten + Katie had planned on an outdoor ceremony, but the weather forecast had other plans. The church was full to the brim with 400 guests as these two said I DO.  And the rain stayed away so we were able to complete all of their portraits outdoors.

This couple’s eye for rustic elegance combined with parents artisan woodworking skills brought a woodsy vibe indoors to their reception hall, a nod to their love of for the farm and the outdoors. A gorgeous cake competed for attention with a table full of sweet treats. The speeches had everyone laughing, crying and then laughing again, and the dance floor absolutely shook once the party started.

All day long, Katie and Colten had the biggest smiles and the sweetest looks at one another. I think I share in noticing the happiness they spread on their wedding day with everyone who attended.  What a joyous occasion and I’m delighted they asked me to capture it!
