Classic Winter Engagement Pictures | Chalet, Kenosee Lake

Daniel & Sarah have known each other their entire lives.  Their older sisters were best friends growing up and always teased them that they should get married so they could be related!  Throughout high school they stayed close friends and lost touch when they parted ways after graduation.

In 2014, Sarah moved back from Alberta to Estevan and her and Daniel reconnected.  They realized they had both grown since becoming adults and it was interesting to get to know each other all over again.

For Sarah’s birthday this adorable couple travelled to Canmore for a weekend getaway to celebrate.  After the first night they set out on a hike in the morning.  The trail was poorly marked and they ended up getting frustrated and going for lunch instead.  They ate a huge lunch and napped the afternoon away.  Daniel & Sarah had reservations for supper, so they dressed up to go out.  Sarah remembers sipping on a glass of whine on the balcony before telling Daniel she had the best day ever and that she feels like she’s the luckiest girl.  Daniel appeared as though he was fixing his shirt, and surprisingly revealed a ring to ask Sarah to marry him.

This sweet and kind couple choose Kenosee Lake as the destination for their winter engagement session.  I had recently met them both a few months prior when photographing Adam & Jenn’s wedding in which Sarah was a bridesmaid.   It was wonderful to see them again and to get to know them a bit more during our session in Kenosee the place where they will say their ‘I DOs’ next year.  It is clear to see that Daniel and Sarah are perfect for each other in every way, their authentic love is evident when they are together!

This August, I’m sure, will give that special day in Canmore ‘a run for it’s money’ as the best day ever.  But I’m sure the day these two officially become husband and wife will be a close second…I look forward to capturing your LOVE that day!
